Handmade ceramic tiles will each display a slightly unique level of glaze and finish as part of their unique artisan finish. Tile Club recommends arranging the box of tiles before you apply your adhesive so you can create your preferred layout before applying Chateau White ceramic tiles to your wall.

Care Info: Crackle tiles must be sealed with a penetrating sealer prior to grouting. Periodic resealing of crackle tile is required. Wall installation only where tile will not come into contact with staining agents including food. Not recommended to wet areas, countertops, or floors.

SHIPPING WAX
This product may arrive with a thin protective shipping wax applied at the factory to prevent surface scuffs. This may appear as a slight film on the surface of your ceramic tiles, and is considered normal.
Before installation, wipe tiles with warm water and a pH-neutral cleaner using a soft cloth.
Do not use abrasive or acidic cleaners. Always patch test a small area first and contact us if you need help.

Tile Club’s Chateau Collection features hand-crafted crackled glazed ceramic tile designed to bring depth, texture, and artisan character to interior installations. The hand-applied glaze, crackled surface, and slight size variation give each installation a distinctive, one-of-a-kind look.
Because Chateau tile is hand-crafted, variation should be expected from piece to piece. These differences are part of the material’s character and help create the rich, decorative surface that makes the collection unique.
When properly installed and maintained, Chateau tile may be used for approved interior walls, backsplashes, shower walls, and select light foot traffic applications.
Before beginning your project, please review the following recommendations and confirm the most current specifications, approved applications, and installation guidance.
1. Pre-Installation Inspection
Inspect Before Installation
Inspect all tile before installation. Installing the material confirms acceptance of the product’s appearance, color variation, crackled glaze, texture, sizing, finish, and overall condition.
Please contact Tile Club with any questions about product acceptability, visual variation, or suitability before installation begins.
Dry Layout Recommended
Lay out the tile before installation to review glaze variation, size variation, color movement, and overall appearance.
This step is especially important for hand-crafted ceramic tile because slight differences between pieces are expected and affect the final look.
Installation Responsibility
Tile Club is not responsible for improper installation, installation workmanship, or issues that occur after the material has been installed.
Final responsibility for proper installation rests with the installer and end user.

3. Installation Recommendations
Tile Club strongly recommends using a licensed tile professional familiar with current NTCA, ASTM, M.I.A., and ANSI installation standards.
Because Chateau is a crackled glazed ceramic tile, proper sealing, handling, and installation methods are important to help protect the surface and preserve the finished appearance.
Pre-Sealing Recommendations
Crackled glazed ceramic may vary in absorption.
Pre-sealing Chateau tile before installation is recommended to help prevent setting materials and grout from staining the surface or bleeding into the ceramic body.
Use a penetrating-type sealer designed to leave the material looking natural. Suggested sealer brands include, but are not limited to:
Dupont™ Stonetech® Professional Sealer
Aqua Mix
Always follow the sealer manufacturer’s instructions. Test the sealer in a small area before applying it to the full installation to confirm suitability and appearance.
Surface Preparation
Install ceramic tile over a clean, sound, flat concrete or mortar substrate.
The installation surface must be free of contaminants or any condition that could compromise the bond of the tile.
Cutting Recommendations
Use a high-quality, well-maintained wet saw with a diamond blade designed for cutting ceramic tile.
A poorly maintained tile saw or improper blade may cause chipping during cutting. Cut slowly and carefully to help protect the tile edges and glazed surface.
Grouting Considerations
Grout joints should be fully packed and free of voids and pits.
Clean excess grout from the surface while the grout is still fresh and before it hardens.
Before grouting the full installation, test in a small area to confirm that the selected grout color is suitable and that the tile surface does not scratch during grouting.

Use setting materials appropriate for hand-crafted crackled glazed ceramic tile and the specific installation area.

Routine Cleaning
Clean the tile surface with:
Mild pH-neutral detergent cleaner
Damp sponge
Soft rag or cloth
Use gentle cleaning methods to help protect the crackled glazed surface and grout.
