1. Pre-Installation Inspection

Inspect Before Installation

Inspect all tile before installation. Installing the material confirms acceptance of the product’s appearance, color, shade variation, texture, sizing, finish, and overall condition.

Please contact Tile Club with any questions about product acceptability, visual variation, or suitability before installation begins.

Dry Layout Recommended

Lay out the tile before installation to review the pattern direction, shade range, and tile face variation.

This step is especially important for wood-look porcelain tile, where natural-looking variation helps create a balanced finished installation.

Installation Responsibility

Tile Club is not responsible for improper installation, installation workmanship, or issues caused by unsuitable jobsite conditions.

Final responsibility for proper installation rests with the installer and end user. Slight differences in color, shade, texture, and production runs are normal and should be expected.

Olson porcelain tile is not approved for swimming pool installations.

3. Installation Recommendations

Tile Club strongly recommends using a licensed tile professional familiar with current NTCA, ANSI, ASTM, and TCNA installation standards.

Surface Preparation

Install tile over a clean, flat, stable, and properly prepared substrate.

The surface must be free of dust, grease, sealers, loose debris, moisture issues, or contaminants that could affect mortar bond performance.

Cutting Recommendations

Use a professional wet saw with a high-quality diamond blade designed for porcelain tile.

Wet cutting or score-and-snap cutting is recommended during installation. Do not dry cut porcelain tile with power tools.

Cut slowly and carefully to help reduce edge chipping and maintain a clean finish. Follow all applicable safety requirements for silica dust exposure, ventilation, and protective equipment.

Grouting Considerations

Grout joints should be fully packed and free of voids, gaps, and pits.

Clean excess grout while it is still fresh. Do not allow grout haze or residue to harden on the tile surface.

For textured or wood-look surfaces, additional cleaning may be required during grouting. Test the selected grout color and application method on a small area before grouting the full installation.

Routine Cleaning
