Usage recommendations are for general application and material durability characteristics only. They do not represent or warrant slip resistance, any specific DCOF value or classification, code compliance, or suitability for a particular installation. 'Residential', 'Commercial', and 'High Traffic' refer solely to anticipated wear and durability, not slip resistance. A shower floor or other wet area indicator does not mean that the product has been tested to, or meets, any specified wet DCOF value.
Slip resistance depends on numerous factors, including the material and finish, grout joints, installation, slope and drainage, contaminants, footwear, maintenance, wear, and any applied sealer or coating.
Before specifying, purchasing, or installing material for any floor particularly a wet, exterior, or commercial floor, the architect, designer, specifier, installer, property owner, and end user must review current technical data, applicable codes and standards, and actual jobsite conditions and independently determine suitability.
DCOF results, when provided, are laboratory measurements and do not guarantee that the surface will be slip resistant or prevent slipping. Polished surfaces may be unsuitable for wet floor applications. Except as expressly stated in current written technical data,Tile Club makes no representation or warranty regarding wet area slip performance or project specific code compliance.
