I would like to know if I could use regular bathroom cleaners to clean the Gilded Age line of porcelain tiles. Will the metallic finish get damaged if I use bleach? Also, do they need to be sealed after installation?
No need to seal these porcelain tiles; however, we don’t recommend using bleach on any of our tiles as it may damage the glaze. Porcelain is a non-porous material, which means they don't require sealing and they also don't support the growth of bacteria that would require bleaching. Our recommended grout (Laticrete Permacolor) is also anti-bacterial and pre-sealed, so your entire tiled area can be stay fresh without bleach.Tile Club recommends using regular PH neutral cleaners that are intended for porcelain tiles to clean these. Always test in a small area first.
Is this tile a matte finish? If so, does it wipe clean easily?
The surface of this tile is considered 'natural' - the background is more matte and the gold accents have a slight shine. Here is a video that shows the tiles!
Porcelain tiles like our Gilded Age collection are very easy to clean. They are non-porous so splashes or spills won't soak into the material. You can wipe them clean with warm soapy water and a non-abrasive cloth.
