What is the size of the individual pieces with in?
Can I cut them seperately.
The chip size, or individual piece size, is 4" each! 3 across gives you the 12" x 12" sheet size. This mosaic sheet is mesh-backed, so you can trim the mesh between pieces if you would like to apply them separately (we recommend keeping approximately the spacing consistent as seen on the sheet if you install them separately).
Can this product be sealed? We are planning on using this for our kitchen backsplash. We tested the sample with some red sauce and it stained easily.
Yes, absolutely! Marble is a porous material and the etching process makes the surface more porous as well. We highly recommend applying a penetrating sealant that will help provide a barrier against stains and splashes while preserving the natural beauty of the stone. This sealant is ideal for marble and also helps keep your grout lines bright and fresh! This helps water or cooking splashes stay on the surface rather than sink in. We still recommend wiping them up quickly, but it will reduce the possibility of stains.
With etched marble, we recommend testing to sealant every 3 months or so - simply flick water at the surface and see if it beads on top or begins to sink in. If it sinks in, it's time to reapply your sealant. Please make sure you use a cleaner that is best for marble as well - this one will help preserve the life of your sealant as an extra bonus.
